Pezeshkian, Putin discuss expanding bilateral cooperation

The presidents of Iran and Russia have emphasized the need to deepen strategic cooperation and fully implement the Iranian–Russian Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The presidents of Iran and Russia have emphasized the need to deepen strategic cooperation and fully implement the Iranian–Russian Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

In a phone conversation on Tuesday, President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, discussed the current state of bilateral relations, along with regional and international developments.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the constructive and friendly interactions between Iran and Russia, noting the positive growth in joint projects, particularly in the monetary and banking cooperation, as well as rail and road transportation and energy sector.

They viewed the signing of the Iranian–Russian Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as a significant milestone, reflecting the depth of ties between Tehran and Moscow and marking a turning point in strengthening political, economic, trade, and security cooperation. Both presidents reaffirmed their commitment to the full implementation of the agreement.

Putin also expressed his hopes for the success of the indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States, offering Russia's readiness to provide technical assistance if needed.

The Russian president extended condolences to the Iranian government and people regarding the tragic explosion at the Shahid Rajaee Port in Hormozgan Province. In response, Iran’s president expressed gratitude for Russia’s sympathy and support in extinguishing the fire at the port.
